EDI Workshop Series

DFP invites faculty and students to participate in a two-part workshop on the topic of ethics, diversity, and inclusion. Dr. Robert Daum and Elodie Jacquet from the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue will facilitate this important discussion and will help bring us to a shared level of background knowledge on anti-oppression frameworks for post-secondary research and teaching. We will explore issues related to racism, equity, and justice in a post-secondary context, and will apply a critical lens to both the research we do and the methods we use to do it. Dr. Robert Daum and Elodie Jacquet will provide us will additional resources and materials to engage with outside of the workshop.

First Workshop: Wednesday, July 29, 12:00pm – 1:30pm
Second Workshop: Wednesday, Aug 19 or 26,  12:00pm – 2:00pm

Please RSVP by email to dfp-admin@dfp.ubc.ca

We encourage all of our DFP faculty and students to attend! Please also extend the invitation to non-DFP students who are interested. We will have a second workshop in August (either August 19 or August 26) where we will continue the discussion and move towards implementation of actionable strategies related to research, teaching, and recruitment. Both workshops will be highly interactive. You do not have to attend the first workshop in order to take part in the second. Both workshops will be recorded so that they can be viewed asynchronously.
