I am a PhD student in UBC's School of Information studying Library and Information Studies, where I also completed my Master's degree. I grew up in Vancouver and Taiwan, and received my Bachelor's degree from National Taiwan Normal University. During my free time, I enjoy swimming, biking and snowboarding.
My research interests are in human information interaction and design, specifically how adults understand and engage with information presented in research translations (e.g., videos, summaries, and infographics). Under the supervision of Dr. Heather O'Brien, my master's thesis examined how adults comprehend, engage with, and perceive research video content in the social sciences. The increase in research translations requires a better understanding of how research can be delivered to communities and the general public efficiently and effectively. As I enter the 2022 cohort, I am eager to learn experimental designs, and apply them to community engagement.
