Vanessa is a PhD student at the iSchool and former student at the Designing for People program (DFP) (2/2018 cohort). As a DFP student, Vanessa worked with other two graduate students to re-design the Tableau Public Gallery. She is currently studying how to improve Brazilian and Canadian children experience with search interfaces. Her research goals are to understand children's information seeking strategies and develop means to improve search interfaces for youth. Previously, Vanessa worked for the State of Rio de Janeiro Consumer's Defence Office as a research analyst. At this position, she developed strategies to deliver and make consumer's rights content "findable" on the institution's website.
