Melissa is an MASc student with the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia. She completed her BASc in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Throughout that degree, she completed co-op positions in a range of industries, including education, medical technology and research. These experiences instilled in her the importance of effective design in all aspects of development.
Research Interests
Throughout her graduate studies, Melissa would like to explore how human-centred design can improve the way we interact with technology within the context of healthcare. Her research focuses on the design and development of surgical devices to improve the accuracy and efficiency of medical procedures.
