Francis Kobekyaa is a PhD nursing student at the School of Nursing, University of British Columbia. He is an experienced registered nurse with 16 years of demonstrated expertise in clinical care, teaching, research and community service in Ghana. He has a master’s degree in Nursing Research at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa with expertise in literature reviews, research designs and qualitative data analysis. In 2021, he conducted a joint study on “Biophilic Design in Sunset Community: Awareness of Green Rainwater Infrastructure, Associations with Inclusion, Wellbeing & Connection to Nature” in Vancouver. He currently works as a Qualitative Research Assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) on a Prospective Pilot Study on myoActivation project, BC, Canada.

Research Interests

Kobekyaa’s research interests are in older women with breast cancer, mobile application designs and heuristic evaluation of digital healthcare technologies for nurses who provide care to breast cancer patients. My current research focuses on designing a mobile application for transitional care in older adults with breast cancer.
